2026-09-06

Saudi Arabian retail and individual investors were net buyers on the Saudi Exchange (TASI) for the week ending September 3, accumulating shares worth SAR 1.15 billion. High-net-worth individual investors led the buying pressure with SAR 535.7 million in net purchases, followed by retail individuals who contributed SAR 510.3 million, and individual professional traders who bought SAR 173.7 million net. In contrast, foreign institutional investors engaged in substantial profit-taking and distribution, remaining net sellers to the tune of SAR 1.29 billion. Foreign institutional trading activity represented 42.53% of total buying volume and 47.28% of total selling activity across TASI. On the domestic institutional side, corporate buying provided additional support with net purchases of SAR 503.9 million, offsetting foreign and fund outflows. This strong absorption of institutional selling by local retail and high-net-worth capital indicates robust domestic market sentiment and available liquidity. Investors should monitor whether local retail momentum can continue to cushion the index against potential global macroeconomic uncertainty and continued foreign institutional portfolio rebalancing.
