Saudi Arabia’s non-oil trade surplus with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries reached SAR 3.78 billion in June, reflecting a 16% increase year-on-year. According to data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), total non-oil exports and re-exports to GCC nations fell 10% YoY to SAR 8.66 billion, comprising SAR 5.28 billion in re-exports and SAR 3.38 billion in national exports. Meanwhile, imports from the GCC dropped significantly by 23% YoY to SAR 4.88 billion. The United Arab Emirates maintained its position as Saudi Arabia’s primary trading partner within the regional bloc. The Kingdom registered a non-oil trade surplus of SAR 2.82 billion with the UAE alone, with total trade volume reaching SAR 9.19 billion. Other regional trade flows showed strong positive balances, including a non-oil surplus of SAR 846.2 million with Kuwait. The figures underline the evolving trade dynamics within the GCC as regional economies strive to bolster local manufacturing and non-oil commerce under economic diversification initiatives. Investors and regional analysts will continue to track monthly trade metrics to gauge the health of non-oil private sector growth across Saudi Arabia and neighboring markets.
