The Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) announced the launch of the Riyadh Digital Innovation District on August 27. This major strategic initiative is designed to position Saudi Arabia's capital as a leading global technology and digital entrepreneurship hub, aligning directly with the objectives of Vision 2030 to build a diversified knowledge-based economy. The district will specifically focus on attracting specialized international technology companies and top-tier talent across six core sectors: artificial intelligence and big data, cybersecurity, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, blockchain technology, as well as robotics and drones. These specific fields represent the vast majority of global tech venture investments, ensuring that the initiative targets high-growth areas. Ibrahim Al-Sultan, Minister of State and CEO of RCRC, highlighted that this project aims to rank Riyadh among the world's top 10 technology hubs. The establishment of this digital district is expected to accelerate foreign direct investment into the Saudi technology space, foster local innovation, and create high-skilled employment opportunities across the Kingdom.
