Magyar Nemzeti Bank, the central bank of Hungary, decided to reduce its benchmark base rate to 5.50%. However, policymakers refrained from committing to a continuous path of monetary easing. Tatha Ghose, an analyst at Commerzbank, highlighted that the central bank remains exceptionally cautious, indicating that the forthcoming Inflation Report in September will serve as a crucial benchmark for future interest rate trajectory.
