Jeddah Airports Co. (JEDCo) has officially initiated the phased operational rollout of Terminal 4 at King Abdulaziz International Airport. The expansion begins with the relocation of key international budget and regional carriers, including Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir, with additional airlines set to transition over the coming week. Spanning 97,000 square meters, the facility has the operational capability to handle up to 15 million passengers annually and features dedicated infrastructure for Hajj and Umrah groups.

This strategic expansion is designed to optimize passenger flows, alleviate congestion across existing terminals, and enhance overall operational efficiency at Saudi Arabia's busiest airport. By redistributing traffic from the North Terminal, Terminal 1, and the Hajj/Umrah complex, JEDCo is positioning its infrastructure to accommodate surging travel demand driven by religious tourism and broader economic activity in the Western Province.

The initiative directly supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 aviation strategy, which aims to boost national connectivity and tourism infrastructure. Following a record-breaking performance in 2025 where the airport handled 53.4 million passengers, the activation of Terminal 4 is a major step toward achieving the facility's long-term target of processing over 90 million passengers annually by the end of the decade.
