The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has secured a bankruptcy order against Arthur Temlett, trading as Abacus Insurance Consultants, following a court ruling in Scotland. Emma Porter of Aver Chartered Accountants has been appointed as trustee to manage Temlett's assets and distribute funds to creditors. The action follows allegations of embezzlement and prior regulatory restrictions imposed in January 2025.

This legal action demonstrates the FCA's strict enforcement against unauthorized financial practices and the misappropriation of customer premiums. By pursuing bankruptcy, the regulator aims to recover misappropriated client funds and maintain integrity within the UK insurance broker ecosystem.

Looking ahead, the appointed trustee will audit Mr. Temlett's financial holdings to settle outstanding debts with affected policyholders and creditors.
