Virtu Financial has announced the launch of its POSIT block-trading indications network for equities listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX). This initiative follows the expansion of the ADX Negotiated Block Trade facility, enabling institutional investors to execute high-volume transactions with reduced market impact and information leakage. Settlements will follow the standard T+2 settlement cycle via the Abu Dhabi Central Securities Depository.

The launch represents a major step in connecting international institutional liquidity with the UAE capital markets. Non-direct members of the exchange can access the network through Arqaam Capital, which provides essential brokerage, clearing, and connectivity services. Executives from both ADX and Virtu emphasized that this move enhances price discovery on the public order book while opening efficient pathways for global funds to trade Gulf equities.

This development forms the first phase of Virtu's planned expansion of POSIT services across Middle East and North Africa (MENA) equity markets. Investors should expect increased institutional participation and higher trading volumes in ADX-listed assets. Watching how quickly institutional order flow adopts POSIT will provide key insights into foreign capital inflows into the region.
