Point-of-sale (POS) transactions in Saudi Arabia reached nearly SAR 12.9 billion during the week ending September 19, according to official data released by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA). This reflects a moderate decline compared to the SAR 13.8 billion recorded in the preceding week.
The total volume of POS transactions also experienced a slight dip, standing at approximately 241.1 million transactions compared to 254.9 million in the prior week. POS spending is a primary indicator of domestic consumer activity, tracking electronic card payments across major retail centers, commercial outlets, pharmacies, and service sectors.
