XTB has secured regulatory authorization to offer Contracts for Difference (CFDs) in Indonesia, expanding its existing local operations that previously focused on stocks and exchange-traded funds. CEO Omar Arnaout confirmed that the broker plans to launch the product within weeks following final minor operational adjustments. This expansion comes after XTB acquired a 90% stake in local firm Eagle Capital Futures in early 2024 to establish a foothold in Southeast Asia.

The addition of high-margin CFD instruments allows XTB to address structural challenges in the Indonesian market, where it previously struggled with low average client deposits and limited brand awareness. Indonesia has now moved past its initial trial phase, joining key focus regions for the broker such as the United Arab Emirates, Chile, and major European markets. Competition in the region is intensifying, with peers like Plus500 and Doo Financial also recently acquiring local licenses and brokers.

Traders and investors should monitor XTB's execution and market share adoption in Southeast Asia, as well as its strategic capital allocation. Management indicated that with this approval, the company has concluded its licensing and geographic expansion phase, shifting its focus toward driving profitability across its primary global hubs.
