ACWA Power has officially announced the commencement of initial commercial operations for the first units of the Qassim 1 combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power project. The initial units bring a generation capacity of 1,283 MW online, out of the plant's total planned capacity of 1,896 MW. ACWA Power holds a 40% equity stake in the project company, Qudra One for Electricity Co.
